Moreover, the West as a whole is not exactly known for “peacemaking” – quite the opposite. The desire to spend more on Western militaries is horrifically wasteful and foolish. The West should be investing more in its social safety nets, medical care systems and furthering diplomacy. Western bungling led to the war in Ukraine; Western bungling and hubris risks causing greater conflict in Asia.
